Mary has us scribbling!

by Kathy Garvey

The last day of June and six of the Pieces of 8 gathered for our Monday meeting at Mary Warnick's Studio inside the new Strawbridge Art League building. (Be sure to visit it sometime at 2011 Melbourne Ct, Melbourne, FL 32901.) Mary was the leader of a challenge to scribble first and then turn that scribble into something. The only condition was that the items we "found" in our scribble needed to be related. Here are a few photos about twenty minutes into our session. (Click on any image to enlarge it.)
Kathy found snails!

Carmen found flowery vines!

Donna found sea creatures!

Mary found a chef!

And here's what we had after lots of chit-chatting, painting and doodling, shortly before heading off to lunch.

Kathy's snails in progress.

Carmen's beautiful vines underway.

Donna's sea creatures emerging and Fay joining us and catching up!
Mary's chef reminded us of Ratatouille!

We were thrilled to have Denette back! She was working on one of her incredible paintings.
I imagine we'll finish these up next Monday! In the meantime, we'll be celebrating the 4th of July together watching fireworks from Denette's grand balcony view of the Melbourne Causeway! Happy 4th to our wonderful readers!
